Double Victory Over Enfield

The lads made it four league wins on the spin beating Enfield twice this weekend taking the full 24 points in the process.

On Saturday it was a 80 run win over Enfield at Liverpool Road were the spectators were treated to some tremendous stroke play from Brendan and Hassan . It was a  maiden Lancashire League century by professional Brendan Drew and a career best 64 by Hassan Khan as they shared in a stand of 156 as we made 238 all out. Brendan hit 12 fours and 4 sixes in his 95 ball 108.  Hassan hit seven fours and two sixes from his 81 balls. Enfield pro  Brandon Hiini was the pick of their bowlers with 5-59. The pro then picked up 3-35 as Enfield lost wickets at regular intervals in making 154 all out. Chris Maudsley top scored with 41 for Enfield whilst captain David Bracewell hit 29.

On Sunday it was off to Dill Hall Lane were the lads were able to complete the double and move up to 6th in the league table.  An opening stand of 94 between Will Driver (52) and Joe Hawke (33) who opened in place of the missing Jon Finch gave House a solid platform only for middle order collapse to see us reduced to 137-6 . Hassan Khan again steadied the ship with a useful 48 as we closed on 191-9. David Bracewell collected 3-39 and Simon O’Loughlin 2-18 for Enfield.

Not for the first time in his Lowerhouse career, Chris Benbow proved to be our match winner collecting 5-24 to dismiss Enfield for 97.  David and Adam Bracewell top scored with 14 apiece in Enfield’s innings.
