House appoint Drew as Vice
Lowerhouse have appointed professional Brendan Drew as vice captain. Cricket
manager Stan Heaton commneted ‘He has shown a willingness and aptitude for
the job and has seen enough to be able to step into the role’.
Brendan has also been added to the club’s junior coaching staff and began
work last night. Brendan will primarily work with the older quick bowling
juniors on Tuesday evenings and the younger players on Wednesdays.
Although the new outdoor net lanes are not quite complete, 65 under 9s to
under 11s enjoyed the first outdoor session of the year last night as the
weather finally picked up. The club welcomed 20 newcomers who were training
for the first time.
The club has actively recruited girls and a number will feature in the
junior teams this year. A Disabilities section has also been added.
