House win at the Turf!

After England’s heroics (did we mention it’s coming home?), Lowerhouse sealed a convincing win at Turf Moor against Burnley, taking 12 points and moving to second in the Lancashire League.Lancashireleague.com said:Lowerhouse move up to second place after a fine all round performance by sub professional Akbar ur Rahman helped the club to an 8 wicket win in the local derby at Burnley. Ur Rahman took 4-45 and then hit an unbeaten 66 to guide Lowerhouse home in the 44th over. Skipper Ben Heap also hit 51, Charlie Cottam 28 and Francois Haasbroek an unbeaten 27. Haasbroek also took 3-57 in Burnley’s innings of 196 all out. Joe McCluskie top scored with 66, Joey Marshall made 25, Chris Holt 20 and professional Asif Zakir and skipper Dan Pickup 19 apiece.Full scorecard here.
