House win in first home Twenty20

The first home Twenty20 saw every man and his dog (literally) down at the Brooks Foundation Ground and the House victorious.

Nelson won the toss and batted first and got off to a decent start making 50 plus for the loss of only one wicket which skipper Ben took in the first over.

After taking the pace off the ball and learning from some early dropped catches, the lads picked the the pace and tightened the screw, restricting Nelson to 117 all out, going down to the last ball. Francois took 4 great catches at long on. Ocki took 3 wickets, Ben and Frankie 2 and Paddy and Toxy 1 each.

The game was halted at half time after 100 zombie like kids and a dog that didn’t want to be caught wouldn’t leave the field to restart.

Frankie batted really well taking the pressure off early on. Ben fell for 10 and Ocki entered and both ‘Saffies’ made light work of the Nelson attack. House knocked the runs off 3 down after Ocki and Frankie fell, with Charlie and Paddy fin finishing off with many overs to spare.

A great advert for local cricket with hundreds of people down at the club.
