Business 4 Burnley!

Volunteers from Burnley businesses will take time out to assist the club.

The volunteers, from six Burnley-based businesses are already working together as part of ‘Business for Burnley’, an initiative founded by Business in the Community, to make a positive impact on the local community. The club was chosen in recognition of its contribution to the local community and in particular the local youngsters.

The club was in desperate need of a make-over for the tea room and changing rooms to ensure the young cricketers have a safe, engaging and welcoming place to play.

The business volunteers have already started on painting the changing rooms and tea room

Club spokesman Kevin Bailey said:-

“Working with B4B was an uplifting experience. The conscientious organisation before, during and after was only matched by the enthusiasm and the endeavours of the volunteers on the day. The work done by B4B is one of the best things to happen to the club in the last 10 years. Working alongside the volunteers helped raise the profile of the club within the community as well as completing work that we could neither complete nor afford to do ourselves. It wasn’t just one day. It is a project which will be accomplished by B4B with great tenacity, skill and enthusiasm. I hope that we are lucky enough to benefit from this again some time in the future. We are very grateful indeed “

The club would like to thank the organisers Mike McDermott, Natalie Brown and Keith Till for their guidance and decision to choose LHCC.

The club would also like to thank the following businesses for the donation of their staff time and materials and to Jonny Russell from the ‘Dolphin Sandwich Shop ‘who provided catering on the day
