Sad news – Jerry Dawson Obituary

The club are sorry to report the sudden passing away of former club stalwart Jerry Dawson whilst on holiday in the Isle of Man.

Jerry was a member of the committee during the Jack Hayes era, and was effectively volunteer steward.

Managing Director Matthew Stansfield paid tribute to the contribution that Jerry made to the club “Undoubtedly during those many years, probably 2 decades, the emphasis for the club was financial survival.

Without the efforts of people like Jerry at that time, the club would have gone under. We are only where we are today because of the sterling work of those volunteers at the time. We offer our deepest sympathy to the family and as a club we take some comfort that the family still attend matches for both the 1XI and the juniors where Jerry’s grandson Alfie plays for the u13s”
