Stan would also like to thank all juniors and their parents that contributed towards the watch bought for his birthday.  It was a very nice surprise!

This weekend sees the first of 4 consecutive double header weekends as we enter the final third of the season with it all still to play for.

The squad is at full strength as Stuart Grant is added to the eleven on duty last Sunday.

On Saturday it’s a visit to East Lancs  who sit just behind House in 5th having played 18 games winning 10 and losing 8.  East Lancs suffered a blow earlier in the season with the news that talented pro Shannan Stewart had to return home.  House won the game at Liverpool Road in June by 93 runs claiming 12 points in the process. East Lancs will again engage a sub professional.

On the amateur front David Pearson leads the way with the bat having notched 260 runs at 18.57 whilst seamer Sid Patel has claimed 31 wickets.

On Sunday we entertain Church at Liverpool Road, the first time the two sides have met this season.  Church currently sit in 9th place in the league table having played 19 games, winning 8 and losing 10 with 1 no result. Last weekend they beat Todmorden comfortably at Centre Vale thanks to an outstanding all round performance from sub professional Jean Symes. Their regular pro Niel Bredenkamp is expected to play this weekend. Bredenkamp is a 20 year-old South African who bats right handed and bowls right arm medium pace.  Back home he plays for North West.  In first class cricket he scored 829 runs at 39.5. In the league this season he has 484 runs at 30.25 with a best of 94 and 41 wickets at 19.41 with a season’s best of 6-28.
