House Snap Up Butler!!

Posted under Club Chat

Lowerhouse Cricket Club are delighted to announce that New Zealand Test and T20 Star Ian Butler has signed as Lowerhouse professional for the next eight games of the season.

Ian who represents Northern Districts back in New Zealand is fresh from the T20 World Cup.  He is a Right Arm quick bowler and right handed batsmen.  He has played in 8 Test Matches, 18 One Day Internationals and 8 T20 internationals.  He boasts an impressive test match bowling average of 36.83 with a best of 6/46 against Pakistan.

Ian has been selected for the New Zealand Squad that will tour Sri Lanka from mid August but is available until he departs.

Cricket Chairman Stan Heaton says, “We have had a few problems with professionals this year. We have signed three quality players who’s contracts we have had to terminate for either injury or international commitments. Obtaining quality sub professionals particularly for Saturday matches has also been an issue and I would like to place on record my thanks to MD David Wren who has worked tirelessly day in day out to try and find the very best sub professionals.  We are now delighted to have some continuity with Ian. His attitude and commitment was first class on Saturday and we are sure he will do a good job for us. Our young side has done very well this season despite the professional problems and we hope Ian will help us to continue and enhance our progress’.
