Lowerhouse have recived a bye in the first round of the Worsley Cup 2009.  

In other games, 2008 Worsley Cup Winners Accrington and beaten finalists Todmorden have been drawn together with double winners Accrington travelling to Centre Vale. Bacup play East Lancs at Lanehead, Enfield take on Burnley at Dill Hall Lane,  Nelson travel to Acre Bottom to face Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall enteratin Church and Haslingden host Rishton.  Colen are the other team to receive a bye.  The matches are set to take place on the Bank Holiday Sunday 24th May 2009.

Cricket Australia have today announced the squad to compete in the annual Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament and Lowerhouse Pro, Brendan Drew has been selected.

Cricket Australia Centre of Excellence senior coach and former international player John Davison will travel with the team in the role of playing coach.

The tournament is played over two days, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November with the final played on Sunday afternoon.

The team will be managed by the Western Australia Cricket Association’s High Performance Manager Doug Harris and leaves for Hong Kong on Thursday 6 November ahead of their first match on 8 November.

The Senior’s Presentation Evening will be held at the club on Saturday 15th November 2008 from 19:30 hours.

This year the Senior Presentation is being held independantly of the Junior Section’s enabling us to have a bit of adult humour provided by Mr Carl Schofield supported by a karaoke / disco with a pie and pea supper.

Ticket details will be posted shortly but get the date in your diary and try and drum up support from family and friends for what will no doubt be a great night.

The Junior Presentation Evening will be held the following week on Friday 21st November, further details provided in due course.
