Bumble Back At The House!

Posted under Club Chat

Former Lancashire and England cricket star and Sky TV pundit, David “Bumble” Lloyd will pay his second visit to Lowerhouse this season when he appears for Accrington in their crucial final game of the season.

Accrington are locked in a two way battle with Haslingden for the Lancashire League Tilte as they look to retain the trophy that they won convincingly last season.

Bumble was at Lowerhouse earlier in the summer when he was guest of honour at the opening of the new nets.

A slow start gave the later batsmen to much to do in reaching Accrington’s modest total

Burnley U11 (B) – 277-1

LHCC U11 Koalas – 223 – 2

Batting: -  Jack Moodie  11*

Despite the runs difference a good performance from the youngsters who had little luck when bowling.

East Lancs U9s – 270 – 4

LHCC U9s – 231-4

Batting: – Ross Birchall 13*

This match will have almost certainly decided the championship for East Lancs who were also unbeaten – providing that they can play all their games. On the day East Lancs were just too strong although the LHCC fielding and bowling was first class.

Rawtenstall u9s – 216-7

LHCC U9s – 277-2

Batting: – Joe Hallstead  26 & Charlie Bithell 11

Bowling: – Tom Halstead 2-9 & Ethan Laraway 2-13

The youngsters won their final match of the season and now have to wait to see if East Lancs can play all their games to see who are champions and who are runners up.
