Senior Results

Rishton 2XI – 158-8                                       LHCC – 132– 8

Matt Marquis 4-63                                           Mickey Lee 43

Oliver Bayliff 3-32                                          Matt Marquis 20*

With an average age of 18 the lads were playing much senior opposition and the hitting of the Rishton players saw them through to a good score in a reduced over game. All credit to the youngsters as they never gave up and 3 batting points was a good achievement.

LHCC Under 13 Jaguars – 211- 6        Bacup u13 – 239-2

Top scorer Hannah Thompson

Debut wickets for Aiden May and James Stackhouse

A tough learning curve for the newcomers to cricket as the u13s fourth team came up against Bacup’s only under 13 team.

Several avoidable calamitous wickets cost the team dearly but this can be put down to inexperience. There were plenty of good signs that this team will blossom.

Finchy Takes 6 in Opening Day Win!

Posted under Club Chat

The first team marched to an opening day win in a rain affected game at Rishton.

Former skipper Jonathan Finch picked up 6-38 with Jonny Russell collecting 2-16 as Rishton were restricted to 135-8 in their rain reduced 44 overs. The dangerous looking Rishton Pro Andrea Agathagelou top scored with 34 before being excellently stumped by youngster Joe Martin off the bowling of Finch. Veteran Craig Smith made 33 and Tiarnan Hamill 31.

In reply House lost Finch and Paddy Martin early but Ben Heap continued his form from the friendly games as he top scored with 55 in a 3rd wicket stand of 91 with sub professional Joe Hawke (31) who returned in place of Aaron Heal who has yet to arrive in the UK.
