Obituary

The club were sorry to hear of the death of Paul Snape. Paul was friend of club and many involved with the club, as well as having done work for us. Son, Sam was a junior at the club. The club were represented at the funeral and we extend our deepest sympathy to all the family

Also passing on recently was Dorothy Ormerod. Dorothy was a familiar presence on the ground watching sons John and Bob play, with late husband Donald a team manager and committee man. Although a sad occasion it was nice to see John and Bob again.

Jean Wrigley

There will be a service at Greenbrook Methodists on Thursday March 30th at 2.30 pm to remember Jean who died a couple of months ago in Plymouth.

Farewell also to Vinny and Margaret Whittaker who emigrate to Spain this coming week.

Vinny has been a stalwart at the club, particularly since his return to the area, and his help with the machinery and on, and around the ground has been a godsend. We wish them well and hope they enjoy the sunshine as they follow the club on-line.

Junior Training and welcome to new arrivals

Has been extremely well attended and we are pleased to have been joined by District, LJL and former Burnley CC coach, Lawrie Johnstone. Welcome to the club Lawrie.

Youngest attendee at the nets is Jeff Wilkinson’s grandson, Cameron Smith.

The juniors have undergone 5 weeks of open cricket and are now in the midst of 5 weeks of nets.

Ground

The bonfire has been reseeded but sadly now has the appearance of a small pond. Whilst this is somewhat deflating, it does seem to have met with the approval of a couple of Mallards, who are currently in residence in and around the various ponds.
