1980: BGSOB Civic Trust Image

Anne Cochrane has sent in a recent addition to the Civic Trust Image Collection – quite a few Lowerhouse faces on this photo:

Burnley Express 19 Feb. 1980: Burnley Grammar School Old Boys (left) and Belvedere line up before the start of the local derby at Towneley on Saturday. Bert Rogerson made this derby in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division his match of the day.  BGSOB lost 2-0 but the margin could have been double.   Teams include many well known faces :

Old Boys: Steve Whitaker, Stuart Hargreaves, Andy Tomlinson, David Sheridan, Andy Ward, Keith Thomas, Derek Davies (sub. Paul Hartley ( 55 mins.), Peter  Holden, John Baldwin, Paul McIlroy, Mick Binns. 

Belvedere: Alan Holden, Simon Vercoe, Derek Sadler, John Sutcliffe, Mick Cryer, Kevin McGovern, Pat Wood (sub. Peter Clare ( 45 mins.) Graham Bushell, Neil Anderson, Ian Higgin, Ken Howlett
