2026 Welcome & Club Guidelines
As the 2026 season gets underway, we’re excited to welcome back familiar faces and introduce new families and visitors to Lowerhouse Cricket Club—whether you’re here for junior midweek fixtures or weekend senior matches.
For many, this may be your first visit to the club, so we’ve put together a few friendly reminders and key guidelines to help everyone enjoy their time safely, respectfully, and responsibly.
The full guidelines/policy can be found here:
Following a weekend of bumper crowds, we’d like to highlight the following in particular:
Challenge 25 Policy
Lowerhouse operates a Challenge 25 policy. Anyone aged 18 or over who looks under 25 may be asked to provide valid photo ID when purchasing alcohol or entering licensed areas.
It is also against UK law to buy or attempt to buy alcohol for someone under 18. This is known as a proxy purchase and can result in a fine and/or prosecution.
Personal Food & Alcohol
You are welcome to bring your own food and drink, but please avoid glass bottles where possible.
Once inside the club grounds, consumption of alcohol is subject to the same rules and regulations as if it were purchased on site.
Please drink responsibly, and under no circumstances should alcohol be supplied to anyone under the age of 18.
All profits from the bar, food, and fundraising directly support and help grow cricket at Lowerhouse.
Safety First
Cricket is a fast-paced sport, and balls can travel at high speed. We ask everyone—especially parents and guardians—to remain vigilant at all times.
- Always supervise children closely
- Stay alert to balls leaving the field of play—injuries can happen quickly
- Cycling, football, or throwing games on the pitch or square are not permitted during play
Restricted Areas
The MKM embankment is strictly off-limits. It contains hidden hazards and is not part of the club grounds. Please ensure all children and visitors stay clear of this area at all times.
Respect the Ground & Club
Lowerhouse is powered by volunteers and supported by our community. Please help us maintain the club by:
- Treating benches, walls, and facilities with care
- Returning glasses and disposing of rubbish in bins or at the bar
- Respecting staff, volunteers, players, and fellow supporters
Let’s all play our part in maintaining the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that makes Lowerhouse such a special place.
