3 emphatic wins!
The Bank Holiday weekend has been a great one so far with 2 more games to play tomorrow.
Saturday saw the Fourth Eleven play at home to Rochdale 4s. We won the toss and elected to bat. Not content with the first ever 4th Eleven hundred last weekend, George Durkin followed up on Joe Edgar’s featc hitting a sublime 122 off 119 balls. Braiden Watson hit 53 and Keagan De Vries 30 in Houses 203-2 off their 40. Rochdale managed 165/5 off their 40. Chris Broome getting 3 of the wickets.
The Second Team played Norden at home on Sunday and Matt won the toss and bowled first. Finchy and Tom Halstead took 3 wickets with George Durkin getting 2 restricting them to 189/8 off their 45. House cruised to victory hitting 190/1 off only 27 overs. Finchy scored 92 not out with Jack Simm 53 not out.
The First team beat Norden away with sub pro Ruhan Pretorious stepping in for Stephen. Ben won the toss and batter first, at 58/5 things were looking slightly ropey but like previous games, batters had starts and built partnerships. Frankie and Dean put on 85 for the 7th wicket, both making not out half centuries to take the team to 200/6 after their 50. In reply, Norden seemed to be on run rate, but lost wickets at regular intervals. Dangerman Zaidi looked set but Ruhan managed to tear apart the middle order with 5 wickets and some great tight bowling from Paddy with 3. House bowled Norden out for 150. Safe flight home Ruhan 👍
