The first team made it 3 wins in 3 days today.

On Friday, the first team beat Rishton in the first Twenty20 of the season. Henri Cottam starred on debut wrapping up the Rishton tail taking 4-7 (the third best Twenty20 bowling stats for Lowerhouse ever!

Henri Cottam took 4-7 to help Lowerhouse to a 103 run win over Rishton at The Brooks Foundation Ground on his senior debut. Richie Fox top scored with 14 in the visitors 51 all out. Dean Barlow hit an unbeaten 58 from 37 balls in Lowerhouse’s 154-6. Professional Stephen Parry and Paddy Martin made 26 apiece and Jonny Whitehead hit 20.

On Saturday, the first team got through their first Worsley Cup challenge. A great team performance again Great Harwood. Lancashireleague.com said;

There was no giant killing act at Great Harwood where Lowerhouse came away with a 3 wicket win. After the early loss of skipper Ben Heap (1) and Jonny Whitehead (0), professional Stephen Parry (48) and Francois Haasbroek (51, including ten fours) put on 80 for the 3rd wicket to turn the game Lowerhouse’s way. Home professional Thikshila de Silva (4-35) struck again to remove the promoted Joe Martin (7), brother Paddy (0) and Dean Barlow (0) but Jon Finch (9 not out) and Toxy Hussain (8 not out) saw Lowerhouse into the quarters in the 34th over. Parry took 3-22, Hussain picked up 2-18 and Heap 2-20 with Reece Willets making 41, Nazakat Hussain 34 and Matt Oddie 24 in Great Harwood’s 136 all out

Back to league action on Sunday, another 12 points in the league versus Rochdale. Two milestones were hit, Jonny Whitehead hit his first Lowerhouse league ton, and Finchy reached 400 Lowerhouse Lancashire league wickets. Well done lads!

Paddy Martin took 4-40 and professional Stephen Parry 3-42 in Lowerhouse‘s 72 run win over Rochdale at The Brooks Foundation Ground. Jonny Whitehead’s first league century for the club helped Lowerhouse post 210-6. Whitehead hit eleven boundaries and four sixes in making 110 from 143 balls. After losing skipper Ben Heap (18) at 57, Whitehead added 132 for the 2nd wicket with Parry who made 53, including five fours. Rochdale professional Sean Whitehead took 3-57 and Steve Oddy 2-41. Rochdale skipper Jamie Roche hit a league best 35 and Andy Dawson 30 in Rochdale’s 138 all out.
