All weekends cricket OFF – ECB ruling

All this weekends friendlies off at Lowerhouse:

1sts V Walsden Away

2nds v Walsden Home

3rds v Pendle Forest Home

The Lancashire League Chairman and Secretary this afternoon attended an LCF Zoom meeting which brought some disappointing and disturbing news.

The ECB have advised that Clubs in the Area of the Lancashire Authority are in pre lockdown.

If we go into lockdown the Road Map will mean,  we are back at stage 1 – no Recreational cricket.

We have been asked to re-emphasise the Level Four guidance which resulted in us being able to restart cricket last weekend.

As a result we have to advise that all Friendly matches involving any of our teams must be postponed for the next 4 weekends.

The Chairman asked the question as to whether the Rossendale tournament could be classed as a competition and the answer was that this could proceed.

Unless we adhere to the ECB pre lockdown requirements then we are in danger of losing cricket completely for the remainder of the season, please do not be under any misapprehensions, we must comply.

At the moment the Presidents Cup and Third Eleven Groups will be in a position to proceed, dependent on further ECB/LCF guidance.
