Back on track with win at Colne

In a sunny day at the Horsfield the First XI got their winning ways back on track by beating Colne by 136 runs to join Bacup in tenth place. Brendan was the man of the moment, blasting 91 and then taking the first seven Colne wickets to fall. He hit six sixes and four fours in his 78 ball knock with Blez making 51 from 73 balls as we piled up 285-5. Finchy made 43, Hassan 30 and new skipper Charlie an unbeaten 29, getting off the mark with a six from his first ball. Colne captain Matt Wilson put up a late fight with 11 boundaries in making 58 from 45 balls before Finchy removed him to end Brendan’s wicket-taking run. The Australian finished with 7-77 and Finch 2-35. Ryan Procter chipped in with 25 and Adam Holt was unbeaten on 31 as Colne were dismissed for 149.
