CANCELLED: Tomorrow nights Twenty20

Lowerhouse V Accrington Twenty20 – Friday 11th June 2021 – Cancelled

Due to an outbreak of COVID19 at Accrington CC and in line with appropriate protocols Fridays Twenty20 at Lowerhouse CC has been cancelled.
Under COVID protocol agreed before the season this game is designated as a ‘No Result’

A statement from the Lancashire League Executive Committee is as follows:

“The Executive have considered the situation regarding COVID outbreaks and unless there is a change to the contrary in the next 24 hours, fixtures (with the exception of any involving Accrington 1sts/2nds) will be allowed to go ahead as published with the following provisions:

  • Changing rooms must not be in use this weekend.
  • Players and officials of Clubs are expected to undergo a lateral flow test and test negative before any play commences.
  • All ECB Covid guidance must be adhered to at all times.
  • Clubs MUST update the Executive by 5:00 on Tuesday as to their up to date situation.”

Our first thoughts go to our friends at Accrington, on behalf of everyone at Lowerhouse CC – we wish those involved speedy recovery and we hope to see you back on the cricket field soon.

I appreciate that many of the community and general public will have already made plans to attend but the matter is beyond either club’s control.

We have tried to arrange a substitute opposition but to no avail as such sadly there will be no game at Lowerhouse on Friday.

Our Final Twenty20 home game is in 2 weeks on Friday 25th June v Colne at 6.15pm let’s hope for some terrific weather and a bumper crowd

Please continue to do your utmost to beat the virus.
