LHCC 11s scoop South Shore Sixes Trophy!!
LHCC under 11s came out tops in a 16 strong competition held at South Shore.
Having lost the opening game v Fleetwood, Lowerhouse went through as best runner up from their group after defeating Longridge. Further victories followed in the quarter final against St Anne’s, then the semi against Leyland. In the final against Euxton, the lads chased down a total of 60 in just over 3 of the allotted 5 overs.
Features of the day included Ross Birchall taking 4 wickets in an over and Joe Halstead’s 118 runs in 4 not out innings.

On a sticky batting wicket the 79 run partnership from Joe Martin batting at 8, and Ismail Khalil proved vital. The game was won at 69-9 but last batsman Tom Lord struck a quick fire 40 before his partner was out. A good day for Ismail Khalil whose figures would have been even more impressive but for first team skipper Lord hitting his late runs. First team adults are able to play in the 3rd team if they bat at number 11.

An 87 opening stand , tidy bowling and a plucky attitude deserved more than a fairly easy victory for Haslingden for whom a couple of first and second team players shone. No disgrace however for our under 14 team against a full 15s team

On a night where 3 under 13s teams were in action the u12 Cougars could see where they need to be in 2012 when they came up against the top u13’s . No wickets conceded by the Lions despite a tidy Cougar bowling performance.
