LHCC 2XI 163-7                                Church 167-4

Max Howells 76                               Patrick Martin 3-33

Alistair Smalley 41 *

It was typical of the side’s luck this season that they played the unbeaten leaders on the day when numbers were at their lowest for selection. Short and long term illnesses and injuries plus studying meant that 3 players made their 2XI debut. Despite the score Church were indebted to an unbeaten ton from veteran Phil Sykes. Debutant Alistair Smalley scored an unbeaten 41 with Max Howells and Patrick Martin playing well.

Haslingden 3XI – 176 all out                LHCC 106-10

Ismail Khalil 4-26                                Kieran Tighe 23

Max Humberstone 2-23                       Joe Martin 22

Fergus Bailey 2- 28

Some in judicial shots in the face of good Haslingden bowling caused this defeat

Colne 3XI – 201 all out                                    LHCC – 204-7

Ismael Khalil 4-29                             Lewis Marsden 60*

Joe Bayliff 4-24                                 Ismail Khalil 60*

Debut 4 wickets for 13 year old Joe Bayliff and maiden senior 50s for Lewis (19) and Ismail (15). The 6th wicket stand of 113 proving crucial. A strange game not helped by the scoreboard being dozens of runs out throughout the LHCC Innings

Josh Lavin 2-3                                                          Jonny Whitehead 32*

A bludgeoning victory accomplished in 8 overs. Once Max Humberstone had pouched the Darwen talisman, Alex Davis, the Darwen innings was up against it as Ismail Khalil continues to collect wickets.

A welcome back from injury for the sorely missed Josh Lavin (broken toe) and Jack Edgar (knee). This leaves only Matt Walker (knee) sadly out for the season.

Top scorers Hannah Thompson and Hannah Till /       Kean Craig 11

Connor Bethwaite 2- 11                                               Harry Halstead 10*

A tie between the 3rd and 4th teams at u13 level. In truth the Cougars made hard work of the match though the determination of the Jaguars made for an enthralling finale. A couple more under 11s were blooded at this level in the Jaguars.
