SENIOR RESULTS

Rawtenstall 2xi 191-1(reduced to 151) – LHCC 2XI 152-3

Oliver Bayliff 47

Lewis Marsden 43*

Dec Bailey 42*

Following a desperately disappointing performance against Colne in the Cup the previous week and the postponement of the league game the following day, the two’s bounced back in style to win very well indeed. Seasoned 2XI supporters described it as one of the best wins seen for many years.

Having seemingly been put to the sword in the field and with a largish 30 over reduced total to chase, the cause was not helped by the loss of 2 early wickets.

However with Lewis Marsden playing an aggressive mainstay, youngsters Bayliff and Bailey put bat to ball to win with 3 overs remaining.

Michael Lee 65                 Joe Gray 3-44

Max Humberstone 15

Sam Ryding 14

A solid batting performance including maiden 50s in senior cricket for Lee and Bailey. Lee was making his first appearance of the season following studies. Joe Gray took 3 quick wickets before Gus (84) and Josh Whitehead (38) set about giving Burnley every chance of reaching the score. Tight bowling and excellent fielding produced 4 runs outs
