LHCC 2XI 52 – All out                   NELSON 2XI – 53- 3

Lewis Marsden 11

Josh Lavin 10

This was never going to be an easy game but the water creeping under the covers gave the pitch an early spitefulness. Most players were out played on or fending off a snorter.

BACUP 2XI 210-9         LHCC 2XI 195 – all out

Mickey Lee 5-42                      Lewis Marsden 52

Shaun Heaton 2-25                    Jack Edgar 39

Phil Haggerty 29

Despite the defeat their was much to cherish from this match. Mickey Lee and Phil Haggerty returned to form after a hesitant start to the season. Lewis Marsden and Jack Edgar put 75 on for the opening stand. 15 year olds Joe Gray and Owen Davies had good debuts; both fielded well and did not look out of place. They also secured 2 points for the team with an 11 run last wicket stand. Owen didn’t get the chance to bowl but Joe had 4 tidy overs too.

Max Peart 13*                                          Ross Birchall 2-10

Toby Carney Stott 13                                Toby Carney Stott   2-14

The team had put in a generally good batting performance only spoilt by some poor shots and running to give away 4 wickets .  By the same token Rishton  were unable to cope with the straight ball . Max Peart had a successful return to cricket after a year out,

LHCC U11 Cubs 225 – 3                                   Darwen u11 220-5

Herbie Farnworth 11                                            Sam Harrison 2-14

The Cubs played some delightful cricket but in simple terms were beaten by an older side who simply smashed their runs.

Rawtenstall U11 (2) 266- 2                                      LHCC u11 Koalas 237-1

Ed Turner 11*

A good all round performance by the C team who were beaten by a side that included a couple of A teamers. Whilst this is against the rules it is better for the lads to play than have the game called off as without them Rawtenstall could not raise a team.

Burnley u11 (3) 231- 4                                                        LHCC U11 Koalas 244 -4

Sam Harrison 2-10                                                                    Dylan du Toit 12*

The game may well have had a different outcome but for the illness of Burnley’s best bowler. A feature of the game was the debut of LHCC’s under 9 Jack Simm. It is very rare that an under 9 is considered ready for under 11s cricket at LHCC but Jack bowled well, scored 6 not out and took an overhead catch on the square leg boundary that was described as one of the best catches by an under 9 in hardball cricket

Burnley U9 – 223-7                                              LHCC U9 260- 3

JamesBridge2-6                                                 Thomas Halstead 20*

Jack Simm 19

The game was much closer than the score suggests. Burnley suffered 4 run outs and presented LHCC with 22 wides. Only the last LHCC pair put bat to ball.
