Saturday 19 January 2019 saw Lowerhouse Cricket Club host a memorial dinner to celebrate the life and achievements of their past President David Wren.

In excess of 90 guests, including David’s wife Judith and children Laura and Andrew attended the very successful event held in the clubhouse.

An excellent two course meal was prepared and served by our very own Jonny Russell of Ark Caterers which included his new range of gourmet Milltown Pies which went down a treat.

Andrew Tunney of Mystique Magic mesmerised guests with his up close table magic and following the meal, guests were entertained by speaker Alfie Moore who regaled humorous stories of his Police career with Humberside Police and his new vocation as an After Dinner Speaker and stand-up comedian.

Comedian Martin Gold concluded the evening by providing guests with an hour of non-stop laughter which brought to an end a very successful and enjoyable night.

Club Chairman Stan Heaton said, “A wonderful evening in memory of a great man, sadly missed by all at the club. A massive thank you to everybody who supported the function and make it a great success”.
