Franky bags 8 as House beat the weather!

Lowerhouse remain joint top of the Lancashire league after beating Rawtenstall  by 104 runs at Liverpool Road.  After heavy early morning and mid afternoon rain the game was in doubt but a mammoth mopping up operation ensued and it was game on in a match reduced to 22 overs a side,

Lowerhouse batted first and posted 179-3 with the in form Hassan Khan blasting an unbeaten 52 from 37 balls with three sixes and a four. Ben Heap’s fine form continued with a rapid 38 in a stand of 55 with Jon Finch (48). The pro then hit a quick 37 to leave Rawtenstall with the task of chasing 180 in just 22 0vers.  Rawtenstall prol Nilantha Cooray took all 3 wickets to fall at a cost of 77 from his 7 over spell.

In reply the Rawtenstall innings never really got going and Franky took a season’s best of 8-35 to restrict Rawtenstall to 75-9. Cooray (26) and skipper Vinny Hanson (13) were the only men in double figures.Scorecard
