Get On Your Bike For Christies & The Club!!

Help raise valuable funds for Christie’s and your own Cricket Club by taking part in the Christie’s Cricket Club Cycle Challenge.

The Manchester to Blackpool bike ride takes place this year on Sunday 12th July, 2009 and it promises to be a fantastic day out for all.

The annual Manchester to Blackpool bike ride is Christie’s most successful sponsored event. Last year, keen cyclists including children, pensioners and disabled athletes were amongst the thousands who completed the ride.

It has been agreed that 50% of pledges and sponsorship that is raised by participating Lancashire Cricket Board (LCB) Clubs and their supporters can be retained by the Clubs to help with their own fundraising and development initiatives, and the other 50% to Christie’s – the LCCC chosen charity partner for 2009.

The ride will start from Old Trafford Football Club, with riders cycling along country lanes to finish beside the Mirror Ball on the South promenade in Blackpool. The course is approx 60 miles and people of all ages and abilities take part every year.

Among the LCB personnel already committed to taking part are Andrew Hayhurst, the LCB Director of Cricket and Paul Bryson, LCB Cricket Development Manager.

To make the day even bigger, Blackpool Cricket Club will be hosting a “Family Day” where participants, plus their family and friends can enjoy themselves during and after the race.

The feel good factor doesn’t end there. On Wednesday 22nd July, all the participants and supporters will have opportunity to attend the official “Christie’s Day” at Old Trafford, when Lancashire Lightning take on the Surrey Brown Caps in the NatWest Pro40.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a reduced price of £10 for adults and £5 for children (under16) – of which a further 50% will be donated to Christie’s.

Here’s how you can take part –
