Gloomy Saturday, Brilliant Sunday – Weekend Roundup
Mixed fortunes for the club this weekend, which saw two losses on Saturday and two wins on Sunday.
On Saturday, the Third Eleven took on Haslingden at home. Robson won the toss and decided to bat – the top 4 all got starts but no one was able to kick on and House lost wickets at regular intervals. Keagan De Vries was the mainstay of the innings and hit 37 in Lowerhouses’ 117 all out of 35.2 overs. In reply, a tight finish saw Lowerhouse get Haslingden 9 down, before some big shots from Leon Brennan saw them over the line with 2 overs to spare.

Also on Saturday the Fourth Eleven lost out at Nelson. Winning the toss and batting first, House were 122/5 off their allotted 40. Shahbaz Mukhtar top scored with 20*. Nelson knocked them off 8 down with 8.2 overs to spare. Dawud Nadeem took 4 for 26 off 8.
On Sunday Haslingden Seconds won the toss and elected to bat. They were bowled out for 122 in 40.1 overs – wickets shared. In reply, House knocked them off 6 down off 31.3 overs with Keagan not out on 26 and Joel Sharpe adding 26 too.

The First Eleven recovered from last weeks league loss beating Haslingden at home. LancashireLeague.coms report read:
Half centuries from skipper Ben Heap and Francois Haasbroek helped Lowerhouse to a 7 wicket win over Haslingden at The Brooks Foundation Ground. A half century from Sean Hunsley who hit 56, including nine fours, at number six, was the highlight of Haslingden’s 182-8. Connor Reed (26), skipper Matt Griffin and Alex Coleman (22 apiece) and professional Rudi Second (18) also chipped in with Haasbroek taking his 300th Lancashire League wicket for Lowerhouse. Heap then hit eight fours and three sixes in making 76 from 78 balls adding 106 with Haasbroek before falling to Garry Sudworth (3-52). Professional Ruan de Swardt made 14, Henri Cottam 20 and Paddy Martin an unbeaten 11 with Haasbroek finishing unbeaten on 57 with five fours.
