Heritage Project Roadshow visits the Brooks Foundation Ground

LOWERHOUSE CC NEWS SPONSORED BY H.RIGG PROPERTIES

We are very pleased to announce that the Lancashire League Heritage Roadshow will visit Lowerhouse CC on Tuesday October 24th, 7.30 start.

The Roadshow will feature items of historical interest, including a presentation with film footage and actual memorabilia. Each presentation will be tailored for each club so there will be items which are Lowerhouse specific.

Not only will you enjoy the presentation but will have an opportunity to help in the future.

That help includes being interviewed about your cricket memories or assisting in archiving material, researching and being involved in the heritage grant project delivery.

The project is amazing in its scope. The half million pound grant will be spent on a temporary and later permanent exhibition, in- school education, visiting elderly people and dementia sufferers for their cricketing memories and a whole host of other matters.

The purpose of the project is to provide a historical perspective of how cricket in the Lancashire League is linked to the mills, the workers and the towns in which this took place.

We respectfully ask that as many of our members, spectators and any interested parties come along as possible. This is not just for the older end as the project would wish younger ones, interested in their heritage to get involved. For those who don’t wish to get involved, having seen the presentation myself, I can assure you that you will have an enjoyable evening.

If you have any memorabilia , please bring it along on the night

If you are going to attend please ring or text Stan on 07941439741 so we can gauge numbers for a free pie and pea supper
