House Beat Rishton to stay top!
Lowerhouse increased their lead at the topof the Lancashire League to 7 points after picking up 12 points in a 74 run win over Rishton.
Lowerhouse won the toss and batted first posting 239-7 from their 50 overs. Half centuries from the in-form Ben Heap who made 57 from 98 balls with six fours and professional Francios Haasbroek, who top scored with a 96 ball knock of 70 that included seven fours and a six helped House recover from 9-2 after 6 overs. Shaun Hutchinson took 3-72 for the visitors with Fergus Bailey (34) and skipper Charlie Cottam (24) also chipping in for Lowerhouse.
In reply Rishton were dismissed for 169. Joe Beneduce (3-12) andthe pro (3-39) took 3 wickets apiece. Irfan Muhammed made 41, Abdul Bisoodwall 19, Andy Bartley 19 before being brilliantly run out by Paddy MartIn, and Luke McVarish 17. Another fine piece of fielding accounted for Garth Wyse when Matt Walker took a flying catch at mid off and then Beneduce bowled last man Ali Sartaj to secure another important win.
