House go top and progress in cup!

A great weekend has seen the young Lowerhouse first XI hit top spot in the league and set up a cup quarter final home tie against Nelson this coming Saturday.

On Saturday House demolished Colne at Horsefield.  After posting 221 all out with 74 for Blez and 60 for the pro, young seamer Matt Walker tore out the Colne top order recording remarkable bowling figures of 7 overs, 6 maidens, 1 run for 5 wickets.  The one run was a wide in his first over!  Matt Marquis also claimed 3-11 to mop up the tail.

On Sunday we again played Colne with Colne batting first and postin g 98-9.  Finch took 4-42 and the pro 3-39.

In reply House were 0-2 having lost Finch and Jonny Whitehead without troubling the scorers. Young Joe Martin, who had moved up the order to bat 3 knuckled down scoring an excellent unbeaten 50 ably supoorted by the pro who was unbeaten on 42.
