House Hit Top With Enfield Win!

House share top spot in the Lancashire League with Accrington after beating Enfield by 8 wickets at Dill Hall Lane on Saturday.

Enfield won the toss and batted first on a hot day and in front of a decent and vocal crowd. They posted 195-7 with opener Asif Fazal hitting a dogged 52 from 130 balls with seven fours. Liam Jackson added some late impetus  making an unbeaten 44, with skipper Adam Bracewell and professional Werner Coetsee making 18 each. Paddy Martin (2-24) and professional Francios Haasbroek (2-56) both picked up a couple of wickets with two run outs and a wicket for Jonny Russell.

In reply House lost only 2 wickets in a well controlled run chase. Ben Heap was again the main man following up last weeks 97 with 64 in a century opening stand with Joe Martin who made 42. Heap hit seven fours in facing 108 balls before being unluckily run out as he slipped. Hassan Khan entered proceedings and scored 48 not out with the pro 36 not out in an unbroken stand of 69. Scorecard
