'House New Signings…

I can now confirm LHCC have signed two new players for the 2008 season.

We are proud to announce, Will Driver has put pen to paper, he captained Read 1st XI last year, and plays for Lancashire u19’s. He broke the batting record at Read, which not alone is an amazing feat, he is was only 16 at the time (now 19).

WILL DRIVER, one of Lancashire’s ECB Academy staff, has broken the amateur batting record for his club side Read.

Will, 16, hit 90 in his last game against Blackburn Northern to take his tally to 837 with seven games left, beating the previous mark of 800. Will, who has played for Lancashire 2nd X1 and Lancashire under 17s, has hit three centuries for Read.’

We have also signed one of his counterparts, Matt Doughty who also played for the first team at Read last year, and scored 87 against us in the friendly last year.

We welcome them, and hope they have a successful first season, and many more to come!
