House Sign Matt Wilson From Colne!

Lowerhouse would like to announce the signing of hard hitting top order batsman Matt Wilson from Colne Cricket Club, subject to league approval.

Wilson joins House having previously played all of his cricket at Colne with whom he won the Worsley Cup as skipper in 2010.

First team manager Paul Stansfield commented “Due to the standards we have reached and our achievements over the last two seasons 2013 is likely to be the most challenging in the clubs history on the field as we are certainly up there to be shot at.

Whilst it still remains paramount to develop our own young players this takes time and they need to be out in the middle batting and bowling not stuck in the lower order and fielding third man in the first team week in week out. We want to give our youngsters the best chance of developing and hand them the right opportunities at the right time for them.

As a free scoring batsmen Matt brings a lot of Lancs League experience to our club and strengthens our squad and the competition for places in the side which we will certainly need for the challenges that lie ahead.

Hopefully we can also bring the best out in Matt who is undoubtedly one of the most destructive batsmen in our league when on form.”
