Third placed Lowerhouse also picked up maximum points but were pushed hard by bottom side Bacup who picked up 3 points in a 3 wicket defeat. Professional Dieter Klein took 4-41 and Joe Hawke 4-44 after Dominic Stuart (1-3) had removed Tim Farragher (2) in the second over. Matt Thompson top scored with 48, including six fours and a six and professional Haseeb Azam made 18 in Bacup’s 98 all out. Azam then picked up Jon Finch (5), Ben Heap (0) and Hawke (0) as 3 wickets fell on 14. Azam also accounted for Klein (12), Joe Martin (19) and Adam Hugill (0) in picking up 6-39 but Lowerhouse skipper Charlie Cottam equalled his season’s best score with an unbeaten 42, including four boundaries to see his side home.
