House tie with Nelson

The first eleven today tied with Nelson in the second last over thriller of the weekend. The second team didn’t bowl a ball all weekend with both games succumbing to the weather.

The match at Seedhill was even closer with Nelson and Lowerhouse playing out a tie in a 22 overs a-side game. Harrison Phelan top scored with 34, sub professional James Price made 18 and Russell Bradley 11 in Nelson’s 91-6. Jon Finch took 4-37 for Lowerhouse. Toxy Hussain then took 3-50 and Sam Halstead 2-22 in Lowerhouse’s 91-7. Finch top scored with 27 and Adam Hugill made 26 before falling leg before to Hussain off the final ball of the match. Skipper Charlie Cottam was one of two run outs in the Lowerhouse innings. The result takes Lowerhouse 1 point clear of Nelson and 4 clear of Ramsbottom and 7 ahead of Burnley at the top of the table after five matches.
