Sad news – Jack Whitehead Obituary

Lowerhouse Cricket Club extends it sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of Jack Whitehead who passed away at the weekend.

Jack has been a familiar figure at Lowerhouse Cricket Club, where he spent time on the Committee and along with late wife Doreen spent much social time at the club. In the 70s Jack ran weight training sessions and was a very active committee man. His sons Dave,  Mark and Chris played for the club in the 1XI or 2XI.

Jack continued to attend the club right up to the current decade, to watch grandchildren Jonny , Josh, Gus, Nick and Alex in the juniors and the seniors.

Jack was a great family man and all his 5 sons, including Steve and Paul were good sportsmen and his legacy continues with many of Jack’s family still heavily involved in local cricket.

Jack’s funeral will be at Burnley crematorium on Friday (December 23rd).
