The loss of 12 players over the close season and 4 additional weekend depletions hit the club hard. Saturday’s team saw 8 of the players with only 30 second eleven appearances between them and 3 of the side have yet to play even a 3Xi game. Nevertheless against a very strong Ramsbottom side the team bowled well for 40 overs and were within 3 balls of denying Ramsbottom the bonus points. Joey stein with only 2 second team games under his belt scored a maiden senior 50 and shared a 68 wicket stand with Danny Simm who had only 3 Third eleven fixtures to his name . This was heart-warming performance full of courage against all the odds. Well done lads.
The following day the team again put up a spirited performance but occupying the crease must become a priority.
