The Cheshire county league team posted a formidable target but the team stayed within touching distance albeit scoring below the required run rate. With 20 needed off the last two overs, a couple of wickets were lost and 14 needed off the last over. New batsman Anthony Barret hit a 4 and a single to get established batsman Aden Aurangzeb back on strike. 8 runs were needed off the last 3 balls with a four coming off the 3rd last ball. A dot ball followed meaning that a four was needed off the last ball. Aden duly drove the ball through mid-wicket to record a famous victory.

Not even the post-match poor sportsmanship of the some of the Whalley range contingent could take the shine off a great victory.

The semi-final was played at Bury CC with the intention that the final would follow. The weather thwarted this with Green mount awaiting. Greenmount had beaten Longridge in the other semi final. Make no mistake; this is a wonderful achievement by the team and coaches.
