Lowerhouse move 6 clear

Lowerhouse increased their lead at the top of the table after picking up maximum points in a 50 run win over Bacup at Liverpool Road. Solid knocks by Hasan Khan (46), Ben Heap (35), Matt Walker (38 not out) and professional Francios Haasbroek (26, passing 400 runs for the season during his innings) helped the league leaders to banish the memories of a disastrous opening day at Lanehead when they were rolled over for just 47, as Lowerhouse piled up 211-9. The recalled Joe Sipocz couldn’t repeat his heroics of that April day but he picked up 3-85 and Ben Lord took 3-26. Haasbroek proved to be the match winner taking 6-51, including his 50th wicket of the season, as Bacup made 161. Jack McGregor batted through the innings against his former club in making 74 from 132 balls with eight fours and six before being last man out, passing 400 runs for the season during his knock. Henry Butcher also made 23 and sub professional Brett Pelser 18. Paddy Martin also took 3-49 for the home side who registered win number thirteen of the season.
