Macca Set For Oz Chance!

Our league winning Pro of 2005 Andrew McDonald has been rewarded for consistent performances for his state side Victoria with a call up to the Australia Squad for the third and final test against South Africa in Sydney starting on New Years Day.

Australia have rung the changes after losing their first home test series in 16 years with McDonald one of the men to get a chance in the build up to this summers Ashes series.

McDonald has been a steady performer for Victoria. He has played 44 first-class games, averaging 38.11 with the bat and 30.20 with the ball, and will play at the SCG.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said “Andrew has been a very consistent allrounder for Victoria for several seasons. He is in very good form and as well as batting in the top six will give us the flexibility we need with our bowling attack.”
