Mixed Fortunes with a win and a loss!

On Saturday House defeated Rawtenstall after half centuries by the pro Aaron Heal (60) and  Chris Bleazard (64) helped us post a match winning 284-8.  Blez who made a rare appearance in the opening slots  and the pro put on 108 for the 2nd wicket after Paddy Martin had fallen without scoring. Jon Finch made 39, skipper Charlie Cottam 37, Joe Beneduce 23 and Scott Hope 18 with previous Lowerhouse nemesis Keith Roscoe picking up 4-93 for the visitors. Openers Andy Payne (28) and Andy Clough (30) put on a rapid 59 with Josh Rushmore hitting 49, professional Naved Arif 38, Danny Barlow 26, and skipper Vinny Hanson 19 as we dismissed Rawtenstall for 230.  The pro collected 6-96 and Finch 3-80 to seal a 57 run win.

On Sunday we were beaten by Enfield at Dill Hall Lane after former Burnley player Aneeq Hassan hit his second senior half century of the season.  He managed 61 from 91 balls. Enfield captain David Bracewell hit an unbeaten 45 from just 33 balls with three fours and two sixes to lift the score from 119-6 to 187-7. Zed Afzal also made 35 and professional Adam Bracewell 19 with the pro picking up 4-69 from his 20 overs. In reply Hassan Fazal ripped through our early order, collecting the vital wickets of Chris Bleazard (4), Heal (2) and Ben Heap (3) to have the visitors struggling at 30-3. Paddy Martin made a watchful 28 from 90 balls before skipper Charlie Cottam 45, Joe Beneduce 27 and Jon Finch 19 with Alex Blake collecting 4-33 as our reply closed at 169-9 from our 50 overs.
