As a result of the scorchmarks seen on the outfield there has been some speculation amongst Ufologists that the club has been visited by an alien spaceship. (See picture below)

NASA scientists have been in touch with the club and lead investigator for NASA, Professor Hanley Steaton issued the following press release

“The marks are a very similar to evidence found at established sites such as Roswell. We believe that a craft has landed probably with the intention of establishing contact with intelligent life. Similar marks were found at Haslingden Cricket Club but the quest  for intelligent life thereseems to have been given up as a bad job “
