Narrow Defeat to Nelson!

The House lost by 2 wickets in a low scoring affair at West End.

House were bowled out for 111. Extras top scored in tour innings with 31. Youngster Max Howells made 14, Paddy Martin 13 and Scott Hope an unbeaten 12 with the bat. It was a disappointing score after a reasonable start saw us reach 42 for the loss of just one wicket.  That then became 57 for 5 before the later order resistance saw us reach 111.  In truth the score was probably 20-30 runs short of being a match winning score on what was a difficult track. Richard Meade took 4-35, new professional Burton de Wett 3-37 withSam Halstead 2-32 from 20 overs for Nelson.

In reply David Crotty hit an excellent unbeaten 57 . Crotty hit eight fours with only Thomas Lord (12) and skipper Colin Pemberton (11) in double figures of the other batsmen. Jon Finch picked up 3-25 as Nelson passed out total with 2 wickets and a few overs to spare.
