Pre-season News

 A quick run down of recent happenings at the club to bring you right up to date ahead of the season.

  • Will Driver and Matt Doughty joined us from Read CC and need no introduction.
  • County under 12 Jack Edgar joined us from Great Harwood CC
  • Patrick Martin, Paddy Howley, Jim Heaton, Andy Holden, Ian Ingham and Johnny Russell undertook the level 1 course at Sprit of Sport and all passed. This took our coaching, managing and assistants numbers up to 36.
  • Damien Juriansz and Gordon Howley undertook level 2 and passed
  • The under 18s entered two teams in the Burnley Borough Councils’ Indoor League. Jack Butler’s LHCC Barracudas finished runners up in the first competition and were joined by Kevin Bailey’s LHCC Stingrays in the second Competition. A big thanks to Jack and Kevin for running the teams 
  • The club assisted the Cricket Development Group with the coaching of the District Girls u 11 and u 13 team. Following on from this a considerable number of the girls joined the Club’s junior ranks.

Junior Honours

  • We sent 3 girls, 3 under 11s, 1 under 12, 2 under 13s, 3 under 14s and 3 under 15s to the County trials hoping to add to our 1 girl, 2 under 13s, 1 under 14, and 1 under 16
  • In addition to Hannah Till- Sophie Newman, Amelia Ripley, Shannon Jackson and Ainslie Wolsthorne all got into the County Girls under 13 Squad.
  • We nominated Jack McGregor, Joe Hawke, Patrick Martin, Ryan Clegg, Max Howells, Patrick Howley and Kieran Tighe for the Lancashire league under 18 Squad.
  • We nominated 40 lads for the district cricket trials at Spirit of Sport on Sunday afternoons for the 3 age groups
