Return of Spectators

This weekend marks  the welcome return of spectators to The Brooks Foundation Ground

Personally and as a club we are excited to see many of our friends, neighbours  and members  who have been  unable to attend for too long

As Secretary and Chairman of the club both myself and Stan,   have over the past 14 months,  found ourselves  in the privileged position of being contact for a number  of our supporters asked to shield originally on 22nd March 2020  all keen to keep updated on club news, developments etc which made our website, live match updates etc and social media channels an essential part of their well-being

I’d also like to pay an additional tribute to the Housecast team who have provided hours of entertainment for us all, a terrific initiative well done.

Shielding advice ended on 30th April 2021 that said some members are classed as clinically vulnerable and awaited vaccination, which in the majority of  instances has now been completed.

So whilst everybody is keen to ‘return to normality’ and there is talk of ‘hugging’, groups of 30 and the Road to Recovery please remember this group and others as individuals who who may not be as confident as you, who may be apprehensive and have real fears around the return to social mixing and the scaling down of social distancing

As a club let’s continue to do our bit, regular handwashing, continue social distancing and wear a face mask where recommended, be kind and considerate to all, follow the rules

Lets hope that the next few weeks bring up some weather and further return to normality

Frank Entwistle – Secretary
