Sad News – Duncan Hall

It is with great sadness that LHCC received news of the death of former player and official Duncan Hall. Duncan aged 64 died suddenly from a heart attack on September 15th in his home town of Tobermoray on the Isle of Mull.

Duncan joined the club when he moved to Burnley with his work with Lucas. He resided in Lowerhouse. He had previously played for Lancaster and was a first eleven player at Lowerhouse in the 1970’s. He was a number 3 batsman, occasional bowler and gully fielder. He was a distinctive player – a student of the game and a gentle giant – well over 6’ tall he was a large man with a beard, and often wore a traditional hooped cricket cap. This led him to be affectionately referred to as WG Grace.

Having retired as a player Duncan worked tirelessly as a member of the Supporters Association alongside the late Ken Smalley and his good pal Kevin Higgins before marrying and relocating to Scotland.
