Senior End of Season Report and Averages 2013

LHCC have produced their averages for the 4 senior teams 2013 including the 3XI runners up and the inaugural season for the 4XI.
Cricket Chairman Stan Heaton reflected on the season.
Although we are very disappointed not to have defended our league and cup double, tributes must go to Accrington who have had a marvellous season in winning the league so comprehensively, and to our semi-final conquerors and eventual cup winners, Burnley who also thoroughly deserved their success.
We recognise that we have not scaled the same heights this season as a team but we are pleased to hold the runners up Holland Cup, and needless to say proud and overjoyed to have won the T20 trophy for the first time in our history and in front of such a big crowd. There have been plenty of things to enthuse about over this season. Those youngsters who burst on to the scene in recent seasons continue to progress and in all cases have beaten personal records and achieved new milestones. The top 9 batsman recorded league or T20 half centuries. They have been joined in those ranks by under 17 Jack Edgar who has established himself with several 50’s. Chris Bleazard broke the 15,000 run barrier and is still scoring centuries. A big thanks to Captain Charlie Cottam and manager Paul Stansfield for delivering such a successful season
The 2XI finished in 3rd position and I consider this to be an outstanding achievement especially in view of the disruption that the side faced. Personal achievements were again an important factor with a couple of the established players regaining the type of form that the youngsters need to play around. The top 8 amateur batsmen recorded half centuries and Scott Hope took 50 wickets, the first time this has been achieved in over 15 years. Many thanks to captain Lewis Marsden, who will miss next season due to work duties in Australia, and the ever enthusiastic manager Gav Shields
The 3XI ( PHOTO ATTACHED ) finished League runners up with a team that consisted entirely of lads who began the season as 3XI cricketers. 2 of them pleasingly becoming 2XI regulars by the end of the season, and a further 4 sampling second team cricket. Inexperience probably cost them the league but from a development aspect this was a very encouraging season with silverware being a welcome bonus. Skipper Corey Hope deserving tremendous credit for the way in which he led the team. Thanks too to Gordon Ridehalgh who was the teams umpire
The 4XI report will be included with the juniors
The Junior report will follow
