Stans Chairman’s Column – Flooding Update

Public Information – Flooding

Much to our relief, and no doubt the neighbours’, work has commenced on preventing the repeated flooding of the cricket ground, and in the worst of situations, neighbouring properties.

Camera work has identified the main issue (not on cricket club property) and remedial work has commenced. The first phase has been the repair to a main pipe (off club property) which should prevent unwanted items entering the drainage system.

Further phases have and should include minor work to pipework underneath the playing surface and most significantly, a collapse off the club property.

The Cricket Club is indebted to Sudhakar Yallinki of the County Council Floods Team for his diligence and facilitating, James Webber and Nick Macadam of Barnfield construction for their valued assistance, and Dean Oldham of United Utilities for his expeditiousness.
