The season starts with a win!

Today saw the first round of Lancashire League 2016 matches get underway. The First eleven started off with a big win, whilst the Second eleven was postponed the day before.

Before the match Joe Halstead and Dom Stuart received their baggy blue caps, numbers 25 and 26 respectively.

The team lined up before the match with the annual squad photo before observing a minutes silence in honour of David Wren.

House batted first amassing 240 for 4 with new professional Dieter making 105 and Ben Heap making a solid 71. Charlie passed 4000 league runs and Ben 3500 in the process.

In reply, East Lancs finished 118 for 9 as Paul Turner couldn’t make it to the crease due to injury. Paddy and Finchy took 3 wickets a piece.

House travel to Accrington next Saturday and face Ramsbottom at home on Sunday.
