The Southmartins – Live at Lowerhouse

Lowerhouse Cricket Club are delighted to announce that on Saturday 10th May 2014, The Southmartins will be making their debut appearance at the club and tickets are now on sale.

The much sought after band from the North East are selling out gigs wherever they play and headlining music festivals across the North so we are pleased that they chose Lowerhouse to make there Lancashire debut.

The Southmartins are a tribute to The Beautiful South & Housemartins, currently gigging and taking bookings in the North of England and further afield. With an unbeatable set of classic hits and other bits to draw upon from The Beautiful South and The Housemartins such as “Song for Whoever” , “Good as Gold (Stupid as Mud)”  “36D”, “Perfect 10”, “Rotterdam”, “Happy Hour”, “Sheep” and many more this is a tribute band for many occasions and many different audiences.

There’s also freshness about their performances, filled with energy and soul. Lead singer Andy’s voice is about as close to Paul Heaton as you could hope for without it being the man himself. With two other great singers and a young band of excellent musicians a rather lively atmosphere is brought to proceedings.

The Southmartins are not a “lookie-likie” tribute and don’t always play the songs note for note as the records but they think that’s what sets them apart.
